So, my first week is done and i think i never had a tougher experience then this week. Let me tell you about it:
So, my travel began on June 10th. I took a flight to Lyon and spent two days there, and to be honest, I didn't enjoy it. I felt really homesick, and I still do, which makes being at RCN Belledonne incredibly difficult. I arrived here on June 12th, settled into the house next to the campsite, and started working on June 15th. So far, the work experience is alright. I feel like I'm learning quickly, but I don't really feel a connection with my direct colleagues, who are both French. Luckily, there are a few Dutch colleagues as well who are really nice, and we've been watching the European Championship every day so far.
I am still homesick, but it hasn't stopped me from working this week. However, I hope it passes soon because I won't be able to endure this for 17 weeks. Anyways, as I mentioned before, I learned a lot this week: checking people in and out, making sure the cash balance is correct, creating multiple flyers with information about the area, and making match schedules for the European Cup. But most of all, I am learning to live alone, and that's going well.
To sum up, I hope next week will be better because right now I do not feel great mentally. I just have to get through this, I think. I will update you on the situation next week :)
