This week was quite a big one. It was my birthday, my parents came to visit me and i have officially decided to leave in the beginning of September!
Let's start with my parents arriving on the 22nd. I didn't really expect to see them that day, so I was a bit emotional at first. Then, we did a small tour of the campsite, and they left for the day. I was really happy to see them because it felt like I had been here for a year, even though it had only been 1.5 months.
At night, we set up a campfire at the house, which was really cozy and a nice way to start my birthday. The smell of smoke in all my clothes was less nice, but you win some, you lose some—haha.
Then the 23rd: My birthday.
I went to the beautiful castle of Vizille with my parents, where I had some gifts to unwrap. It felt like an old-school birthday, since half of my birthdays have been in France. After that, we visited Alpe d'Huez by car (maybe not the most legit way, I know). It was a nice and not too busy day.
The rest of the week went by quickly, and on Thursday I had to say goodbye to my parents again, which was hard. But I think I'm not more sad as before, so that's good. Now I'm going to focus more on schoolwork and my internship so that I can have a bit more margin in hours before I return to the Netherlands in September, which is now official :)
Anyways, from now on I'll be writing here weekly and doing my assignments, of course. See you next week!
